Each month, CTA focuses on a character trait that we discuss, learn, collaborate and implement into our lives at school, home, and in our community.
Today we had our first ever end of semester elementary CTA Character Education Awards Assembly!!
This past semester we have focused on the first four character education traits: Caring, Hardworking, Appreciative, and Responsible.
For our assembly today each teacher selected a student from their class that has demonstrated one of these character traits all semester.
Our special teachers selected one student from grades kindergarten through 5th grade that demonstrated all four of these character traits for the entire semester.
Congrats to our 2019 First Semester CTA Character Education Awards

Congratulations to Mr. Harding who was selected for the WGVU Cool Teacher award! It’s not every day a class gets filmed for television! Mr. Harding was nominated by 8th grader Sierra Willis.
We are collecting for Toys for Tots! Please consider bringing a new unwrapped toy. There are boxes in Mrs. Rose's and Mr. Harding's rooms, main office, and elementary entrance. You can make a huge difference in a child's life. We would love donations if you are able to give!
Attention, KCTC students!
There will be no bus transportation for KCTC on Monday, December 2, as Cedar Springs does not have school.
11th & 12th grades will visit GVSU on Tues, Nov. 19. Departure is 9:10am with a 2:00pm return. Students in off-campus programs are welcome but should communicate with instructors. A signed permission slip is required. Contact Mrs. Dille with questions: cdille@ctachargers.org.
Attention KCTC / first session Launch U students! Tomorrow is early release from KCTC. You will be dismissed at 8:30. If you catch a shuttle bus to go to another program, you are excused from that program tomorrow. Any questions, email Mrs. Dille: cdille@ctachargers.org.
Attention MS/HS! This year Halloween will be celebrated on November 1! Middle school will be changing into costumes after lunch and celebrating in their homerooms at the end of the day. High school may wear a costume through the day as long as it does not distract from learning.
Our first Student Showcase of the year coming soon! Stay tuned for details!
Art Club will be starting up again beginning Tuesday, October 8 for students in grades 6-12!
Where: Mr. Gwizdala's room

September's Character Trait is CARING. Today the middle school students were challenged to do at least one Random Act of Kindness every day and see what happens. Ask your Charger how they will show kindness this week!
Mr. Cowherd's 6th grade class discusses the character trait of Caring.
Fun fact: Our students can easily remember our character traits because they spell out CHARGERS! #wearechargers #worldchangers #scholarshipcharacterleadership
Love stopping in our classrooms and seeing our staff facilitating Capturing Kids Hearts - Good Things! Our entire staff believes that KIDS matter and what WE do matters!!! #capturingkidshearts #weareworldchangers #wearechargers #goodthings #positivevibes #whatwedomatters
Here at CTA we are busy like this bee on our beautiful campus, getting ready to welcome back students and staff. We can't wait to see you all soon!
CTA is proud of the achievements of our students! National Honor Society recognizes high schoolers who meet academic & volunteer service criteria. Our NHS chapter is a great way to build character, leadership, and scholarship. We are excited for another year of learning!
It's great to have time in the summer to plan, but WE MISS OUR KIDDOS! One of my favorite things about Chargers is their pride in our campus. Here are some 6th (soon to be 7th) graders picking up litter on the grounds last year. Can't wait to see all the smiling faces again soon!
